Founder of Local Skin Love, professional aromatherapist and awarded beauty brand developer with over 10 years of experience.

Hi!! 🤚🏼My name is Ivdia Velázquez

I lived in Miami for 8 years, where I recorded 2 solo albums and worked as the right hand of the owner of an important gallery at Wynwood Art District. With her I had the opportunity of coordinating many art exhibitions and also fairs for Art Basel.

I moved back to Puerto Rico and in 2011 created Linda Mami - my 1st business venture. Linda Mami is a pregnancy skincare brand that came to life with the commercialization of a stretch marks body oil formulated by my mother (a pharmacist) in 1978. In 2015 I won Travesía al Éxito Empresarial and had the opportunity of operating a cart inside Plaza las Americas.

I started asking myself if it was possible for a single small beauty brand to truly thrive in this highly competitive industry. An idea grew stronger in my heart; that by working as allies we could be stronger and more competitive.

I took on the challenge and in September 2016 opened a new store called Azahar, with our own label of premium botanical products, with an aroma bar and with the purpose of starting the collaborative project with other Puerto Rican beauty brands. One of my biggest achievements is opening the door for these brands to be able to sell their products inside DUFRY store at Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport, sharing the space with the industry biggest names.

I decided to close Azahar store in July 2019 to fully transition to an eCommerce operating model; with this transition the project was rebranded to Local Skin Love and a new plan of expansion was designed, which includes integrating premium beauty brands from other regions of the Caribbean.

This is my story. I invite you to explore LOCALSKINLOVE.COM and support our brands.
